Getting a Permit

Documents Required

To obtain your NJ learner's permit, bring the following documents to the DMV:

• Original birth certificate or US passport (expired not more than 3 years)
• High School waiver card (blue squared card)
• Social Security card, copy, or ITIN Number
• Proof of address
